Good article cleared up a few things for me, in the past thought i was going nuts. However since i have been reading about and learning about Shamanism of all things i have completely eradicated them by the injection of pure and positive energy. Using crystals, meditation and such and when i feel negative energy to carry out smudging using sacred herbs like desert sage to smoke out the bad energy, paying particular notice to corners and any dark areas. I don't think it was coincidence that many indigenous people like the Native American Indians lived in round structures like teepees and even adobe mud type dwellings were also round.These shadows are mentioned also in these cultures, going way back.
Incense can be used as well, so i hope this info will be of use to people who come across them. I to don't think they are around for our benefit.Take no chances as Aanica has advised.

Hi Aanica, Love your site. I have often seen shadow people in more than one place that I have lived in my life, sometimes they are the black shadows as you described, but on many occasions they have been like a brown/bronze with almost a faint glow to them, any idea what that means?

Hello Jennifeefers, there are many theories concerning color, a friend who is a Catholic demonologist suggests 'age' and his belief falls into the purgatory concept, by that he says those
who have lighter color are almost out of the purgatory they have served. These colors you describe are new to me but I will do some digging and see what I can come up with.

HI Wow, so glad to find this info. Have seen both the hat man and the hoodie man.. hoodie man scared me. Disappreared when i screamed. Not sure this is where I should post my story. So will check things out on the site.. and if this is the right place to leave my experiance I guess somebody will let me know.. will check back for comments... meanwhile it is good to know I am not alone in seeing these things. My story's a bit wild. Recently I've been trying to understand these beings who have seemingly appeared; I didn't get any answers until I found this site. The one I'm dealing with isn't harmful, at least doesn't seem that way, in fact it will go out of its way to try to touch me. There's no harm done on that front. What isn't interesting is the fact images of people continuing to kill themselves keep appearing occasionally. I woke up to a severed head near my radio and had to clear my eyes two or three times before my vision adjusted and it was gone.

My alarm clock spelled out,"Only you can save yourself." And as of last night there was some sort of shade again with the continued theme of killing himself. He had a gun in his mouth and while there was no sound or gore, he just continued to pull the trigger over and over until I positioned myself to where the shade faded. I've been going through a lot of trauma, but I'm still as positive as I ever was. Is the first Shadow Man I've seen really responsible for this, or is it someone else all together? And he's not afraid of me at all, in fact he seems downright friendly.

Iv had 2 incounters with Shadow people but the first one was the old man in the hat when I was 7 my Grandmother died and I was moving away from my friends I was feeling that draining feeling and depressed. I feel asleep woke up (you know how some times in the middle of the night you kinda wake up but don't really and you fall back asleep) and I saw a black shade with a hat on and as I was awake for about 10 seconds he walked away right threw a wall and vanished as I was falling back asleep and the draining feeling lasted for about 1 month cause I was happy after finding new friends. Second occuring was when I when't to the library near my house and when't threw the back woods paths and found this memorial/tomb stone which is called 9 mans miserry. I tryed reading the plack but I couldn't becouse my sight whent blurry and I couldn't even read one word and I had a weird bad feeling that I new this place like that was part of my past life I get that feeling and blurryness when ever I go near it and after I see this shadow person hiding behind a tree observing me. The third account is now which is a "hoodie" as you call them. I'm going threw a lot of depretion and being upset all the time cause of a girl and heart brakes and stuff like that. I found this page when I looked up shadow people and why they follo you.

WoW! after 7 years searching for answers to these shadow men I finally found some solid info. Thanks a million! during the past 7 years I've seen them when in a meditative state I guess with my third eye. Then one time my younger son about 3 years old would scream in his sleep and this was happening like 2 to 3 times a week at night. His screams were like terrifying, i would wake up from his screams and pat him back to sleep. Most of the time I was in such a deep sleep after patting him i would knock out but something told me that his screams were not normal. So one night when he screamed i woke up out of my sleep and jumped on top of him and suddenly (in a blink of an eye, literally) our room disappeared and i was in some kind of space and above be there was this black cloud (it was more like black ink dropped in water, how it spreads) it was this deep black thing hovering above me. Then within seconds i was back in the room again. This was like maybe 5 years back since then countless things have happened but i won't write all them. But for the past year my kids see black shadow men,my kids call them "the black man". My kids are 3 and oldest one is 5. Just yesterday my 3 year old pointed to his shadow and said "daddy he looks like this". I have not seen them with my physical eyes but i see them when i meditate or in dreams and this is once in a blue moon. In my situation they are not good they cause emotional and physiological havoc when they start to appear. I've tried everything but nothing seemed to work except maybe this might have worked --(greater than) someone told me that there is this crystal looking rock that you get at Chinese stores, it looks like big chunks of crystals but it's not like solid crystal if you but it in water it melts(they could be salt rocks). Sorry i don't know the name of these things and the guy who told me about them is no where to be found. Anyways so what i did was i took these crystal looking rocks and put them in water and read my prayers and blow on the water and salt rocks. Then i took the water and put it into a sprayer bottle and sprayed the salt rock water that was blessed with a prayer in each corner of the room, window and door. We have not had any bad dreams but the damn shadow thing is intelligent. i should have done this to the whole house and not just the room. let me explain, It was getting late last night so i took my older son to sleep and my wife said she has to clean up so she stayed downstairs. Around 1 pm i woke up because i did not see her so i went and said come and sleep she said "i'm doing the dishes" so i said hurry up. Then 3:45 pm i wake up again i looked and now she is watching tv, I said what in the world are you doing come and sleep she says "i'm coming" so i say to her this is not normal but she ignored me. I wake to go to work 6pm and she is finally sleeping but not in the room but in the living room. Then it hit me that the black shadow man does not want her to sleep in the room cause he can not enter. It might sound crazy but after years of this going on this was like a light bulb lighting up and i come to the conclusion that yes something i'm doing is working but my mistake was i did not do the whole house. What backed by theory was that i've been told by a few highly spiritual people that this thing is attached to her and that is why it would not allow her to enter the room. This is only the beginning of the experiment so i can't really saw it works. Sorry about the book i wrote but this is the first time writing about this and hopefully this will help others and your research. last thing if you want like more info on my experience for your research please ask me any question you may have. Hi Sage, what you described is chilling and believe me a similar story occurs when ever these things are present, they have one mission and that is to infect the mind and lead the person away from anything good. To describe them best is to call them the dark army of Lucifer; they do target individuals and will focus upon them as they have your wife. From what I can tell by what you describe you are at least sensitive to them to understand that they do exist. They exist worldwide and especially in the astral world, one reason your child is attacked thru his dreams. I feel you have strength within you they most likely don't care for so they attack around you hoping to get to your mind through hurting loved ones. Stay strong Sage, your family needs that.

I can attest to shadow people following from one location to another. I have one that has followed me to another home but usually only shows himself if my anxiety and stress levels start to peak. He is rather large, probably around 6'6" and very solid. Any time I have had a man friend that has lived with me or stay any length of time with me, my shadow seems to rush to my side whenever the gentleman comes into my room at night. I'm not sure if it is a protective move or one of jealousy. He never harms anything but I'm not the only one that has seen him.

I have also been plagued with some health issues lately and I have had an increased amount of shadow people that quickly dart past me but never approach me. I feel no fear of them when they are near but rather curiosity as to who they are supposed to be.

@EEB, I have heard story's of shadow people following a person and family's having the problem m for many-generations. A shadow person/demon is only present to cause harm, nothing more. You health issues are placing you under duress and that is like ringing the dinner bell for these entity's thus the increase in amount of sightings. You feel no fear because they are deceiving you in a weakened state (your health or any other stress) They deceive the mind to get you to let your guard down and let them stay. I will assure you, it is not there for your protection and for your best interests you need to not try and communicate with it in anyway.

Thankyou Aanica, I've never tried to communicate with any of them I just knew that they were there. You did clear up something that I guess I never really thought about though. I always assumed like anything else there were good and bad shadow people, I didn't realize that they are all up to no good. I will definitely keep that in mind and maybe a cleansing of my home is in order. Thankyou again.

You're welcome EEB, Im glad you will take that advice because despite what a few may try to say, there are no good shadow people. They are demons of Lucifer's army and they will try to deceive as many as will believe them to anything else. Here's a question. I've noticed lately that Watchers and Shadow people seem to get put together. Hmmm. I've done an enormous amount of investigation into that subject over the years because of personal experiences and each one of my shaman teachers had similar observations about the watchers apart from the African shaman. Never come across anything conclusive. It occurs to me that the phenomenon is actually a confusion of different kinds of phenomena. Watchers who look like interested human observers who are seemingly totally passive (these were the Watchers discussed by the shaman who say there is no reason to fear them). The shadow men passive and generally hidden. The shadow attackers who seem to be very malevolent. The UFO related orbs that are sometimes light and sometimes dark. The shadow that accompanies the Hag in sleep attacks. The snouted feeders who come in the dark and leave bloody bite marks (African Shaman related to these as watchers and was used to banishing them) etc. etc.

You've obviously been gathering quite the volume of information here which seems to be current. In your experience you seem to see them all as being related?... or all extremely negative? Do they seem to be substantially different or all connected in your view.

I have also seen that reference made but in my understanding they (Shadows and Watchers) are very different as to what they are. There are other opinions who by their belief systems will disagree with me but after many years of study I find the explanations of Watcher/Nephilim. To be totally separate from the shadows.
I am based in mostly Christianity (but not exclusively) I tend to lean to the view the watchers are sons of God who fell after descending to earth and them who took daughters of man for their own pleasure. I hold to the opinion the omitted canons (Apocryphal) Enoch and Jubilees books contain more accurate information regarding these beings.
To that I add I feel the Nephilim (children of the watchers) were not all destroyed (the flood) and that their descendants and DNA are still present in some humans today. Various unexplained genetic mutations may in fact represent this. RH Negative blood, Blue eyes, disease resistance and several other traits that were correlated, could be coincidence or wishful thinking?
The shadows are all negative imo, they seek chaos and destruction. Firsthand experience for many years up close to them, I have felt nothing except dread and fear when they were present.
I do feel the hag is also a different entity I have experienced this one also just once. The feelings did not match to a shadow entity but something much more sinister it felt like a hollow dead darkness as if the world had stopped time and the vacuum of space was in my very room. Their world has no light. I do think they are confused/combined in the world of the paranormal media where information is so watered down it takes some digging to separate. If the watchers are the original fallen then they would still be here on earth, if so they may have this army of shadows doing what they feel is payment back to God by harming man in anyway possible . Yes... that feels about right. Much the same experiences here. Shadows negative and Watchers not to be confused with shadows. The Watchers as I was told by the shamans I've spent time with are just that, watchers. I've seen then at certain times in my life sometimes as totally human and physical form. Sometimes as visible but almost as apparitions... lacking defined substance. They seem almost like lab technicians observing with a detached eye. The shaman who spoke the best English... a chief of seven council fires... if I remember right, said that I had four Watchers but only two were visible to me. Obviously I asked about it being a curious type :) He said they had a purpose not known to humanity, that they traveled between realities in much the same way as angels but they were different and created for a different purpose. Angels are messengers. That angels were always fearsome in appearance as a way of masking their vulnerable beauty. Kachina filled similar roles as angels but were protectors. Often what we see as pure angels or sometimes even visions of the Great Creator are really just sightings of our higher selves. He would say with a smile. The sight of the great creator is something that we could not endure... "Remember the Star Nations are but a pin-prick on the little toe nail of the great creator." He said the Hebrews got things a little confused at Arch Angel and the Empirical Christians confused the hierarchy still further. Watchers seem to me to be recorders of events... front line reporters. He also always insisted that there is balance in everything and that Christianity has excluded the fourth element of Great Spirit as an attempt to censor what might be misconstrued.

It's all up for grabs and if Joshia is right this is all a constructed reality for those of us who wish to be incarnate here. That we change the matrix to suit our needs at any time and that is evidenced when we are suddenly aware that something has changed all of a sudden.

When you saw them what did you see? I have seen 1 observing me I will describe for you what I saw, I usually go outside late at night to talk on the phone I live in a mountainous region with no city lights or sounds, My neighbors have a street light (if you want one where I live you must buy one)
At the edge of the woods I saw it, it was shaped as a human but it was solid white and when it realized I saw it, it ran into the woods but it left a trail like it was moving through time very fast, my guess was the dimensional shift was what I saw. Is this like your lab tech types?

I believe him to be correct with confusion by the humans especially the devout Christians in in many sects. I followed what the Catholics wrote only because they had the most to say about evil, demons and how to get rid of them. That is how I freed myself from attacks by the shadows, that and awareness that they cannot influence me or attack unless they are very subtle and at times they do slip back in.

A few different variations is what I saw. One was what I might call Corporeal Watchers which would be indistinguishable from any human beings except their contextual environment. They were a couple of guys dressed in normal clothes. One wore a green bomber jacket and the other a trench coat. One night I was in my sitting room going over notes for the "Covenant", a film which was based on the Faustus legend and comes out this fall. I was shooting the next day and we were to be using my sitting room as a location for the shoot. I had lights on in the hallway and lights in the front porch beyond the sitting room window but no light in the living room... feeling the atmosphere... I was standing with my back to the window. Shadows cast across the opposite wall and I turned around to see them both looking in through the window at me. I looked them both in the eye. They looked back at me in a very concentrated serious way. They turned to each other and started talking. Thinking they were intruders I dashed out on to the porch. They were not there and the door was still locked. These were what I believe to be as Walking Night Bear described... angel-like creatures whose purpose was to observe. The different shadow creatures aren't at all like that. Now the semi-visible "Watchers" were more like your "runner"... i.e luminescent rather like ectoplasms or luminescent orbs with a shape... like the northern lights are to some... they I have identified as various ghost energies. i.e. the remains of the once-carnate.

Kanchinas are protective spirits but are not necessarily feel-good entities. They are there to assist and to protect but also sometimes to keep you in line. They can come in any size as needed for the task at hand. I think that might be what Jacob wrestled at the bottom of the ladder when he was getting to close to prematurely ascending. Angels are different. They have no souls and they are inter-reality so can bridge different realities easily whilst bearing messages. We captured an angel on my TV series "Beyond". Twelve astounded witnesses but the camera which should have focused easily and automatically would not do it. On the original footage much more is apparent. The bottom tips of the wings are in focus on first generation footage and sometimes they flutter so quickly and on the background of the audio you can hear a burring sound. However when the footage is compressed for broadcast or even more for the internet it is much harder to see the details because of the lack of resolution... however if you watch it off the youtube resolution and crank the brightness/contrast on your monitor you'll see more. Very cool, I could see it, and you described it perfectly mine was luminescent. A good description indeed. I have one more maybe you have heard or know what it was. Once sitting in the woods after a hike it began to sprinkle so we sat under trees waiting to let it pass as I sat there quietly I looked straight in front of me and there sat something that looked like a man sitting leaning against a tree feet stretched out and crossed like a relaxing person would be except in a camouflage that is similar to what you see in the movie "Predator" http://www.actionmoviefreak.com/the-jungle-came-alive-and-took-him.jpg I understand the army may have this type of camo, but I don't think they would have been in the place where I was just one lone soldier. It was watching me and I felt fear, my senses are extremely acute and very reliable I trust first instinct always when it comes to anything in life and I knew that was nothing good watching me. any ideas about that or have you heard of that ever before?

Never have seen anything like the predator and it does sound like the light-bending military nano-camo... but it also sounds like an elemental... which was the first thing that came to mind when you described it.

I've also found when in thick bush, jungle or forests with a lot of green around in daylight, green filling the field of vision, that I've reached a state of visual confusion when my senses kind of go into hyperdrive... at those times my aural senses are heightened and my skin almost becomes a sight organ. Often when that happens I've felt extreme danger and stopped and waited. One time looking very carefully around, in central Ontario. It took the longest time to locate the eyes of a large bear amongst the green forest frozen and staring at me. Another time in a jungle, when I stopped, it took me the longest time to understand that there was a spider's web right in front of my face. My nose was almost touching it but it is designed to be invisible and on it just to right of my field of vision was an extremely poisonous, large, long-legged, brown spider. Maybe only an inch from my temple. It so shocked me that to my embarrassment I jumped and screamed and the web caught on my face as the spider ran around my forehead to the back of my head so that by my panicked move forward I'd managed to completely encompass my head with the web. Fortunately the person behind me, didn't know how poisonous the spider was and just brushed it off my back with a machette. LOL

There have been other times when I've stopped with the absolute certainty that I was being watched and despite standing there for the longest time performing a military style visual survey could find nothing. Still convinced of the presence of something watching me, I continued very, very slowly but never finding the hidden "observer". I wonder in those situations if I was looking for a "Predator" if I would have been better able to detect it as similar to the creature in your event.

There is another one that used to fascinate me as a child from the age of 2 or 3 the first time we were in the big house my Mum had taken to turn into a hotel. I mention it in my introduction in the forums. It was a large regency house built in the time of Charles II on the hanging site in Bristol. My family was working round the clock renovating the house and turning it into a hotel. At that time I was sleeping on a cot in the kitchen which when I was supposed to be sleeping was illuminated by a bare light bulb in the hallway outside the kitchen. I saw a man with a plumed hat form from the rays emitted from the bare light bulb. At first I thought it was like watching a film but he turned to me, removed his hat and did a full renaissance bow. In retrospect I learned the bow in the theatre several years later and this light cavalier performed the bow with perfection. I have memories, less distinctive, of the man appearing and taking on the aspects of characters that would fuel a child's imagination... never felt scared of it. Interesting though that his first appearance was consistent with fashion at the time of building the house. Something I as 2/3 y/o would have no notion of.

I am delighted to be able to discuss these matters in full its been a while. The camo being was at an inner city, the hike was along a neighborhood where there was a field I guess that is why it struck me so odd for that to be there. I have heard of others who have encountered the camo type men. They felt them to be of the reptilian race and a type of watcher, not supernatural where as like a ghost could just disappear they had to be able to hide in plain sight but is that the case? I would not know but I did not like it. There is no doubt we share our world with many others. I told XingWi about another I saw a gray man/being it was very tall 7 feet or so, it looked funny the head was small, arms long body seemed wide and flat. I knew it was not a shadow man it came in the day time, still gives me chills while I write this, it was in my bedroom doorway when I looked at him his face was emotionless it was watching me and then it just went on its way past my doorway. Scared me enough to make a protection grid across my entire property every corner and every entrance to the house along with the windows and the entrance to the driveway (it's very long) As far as I know it has not returned I am careful not to get too close to the woods as I walk at night. There is something there that does not cross over.

That is so spooky... especially when they seem so devoid of emotion. Been working the last few days with the lady at the centre of the Squatch, Shadows and UFO events. Strange thing is I just discovered that one of her witnesses is a friend.

That led me to thinking and then to making this post elsewhere on P9...

From long before working on my TV series I've long held the belief that the life source or spirit is light plasma and this is typified by the action of cerebral plasma which is used in the brain to fire off thoughts across synaptic gaps. Stars, light, speed of light, plasma fields, luminescent orbs and genuine ectoplasm events are all light plasma.

That said I have also long held the suspicion that God could be a field of thought that our brains are are set to tune in to as receivers when we are in physical incarnation. In dream or trance states we are immersed in the field of thought and when we are conscious we are filtering the huge amount of activity required to access remote thoughts by keeping it located in our sub-conscious minds. This could offer a neatly packaged explanation for telepathy, synchronicity, ideas cropping up like Jung's daffodils at the same time but independent of each other's research, remote healing, channeling, remote viewing, intuits, power of prayer etc. etc. Perhaps gives an almost rational explanation for 10 or 12 major paranormal phenomena.

Working on my series we found support for these formulated beliefs in a number of fields.

It's been awhile since i posted but since then this is what has happened. I did the salt thing the next few days my kids again saw the shadows but they were moving faster, they said. I also say a dream during that week in my dream i saw a silhouette of a man then he turned into a huge snake that flew into the room i was in. I got the feeling that this man that turned into a snake was slick and professional (he was there to get the job done). Your post is very accurate cause the shadow men come and seems they just watch and then other entities start to come. By the way the salt thing only worked for a few days but i feel like they have somehow gotten thru. I started to listen to positive affirmation which has really really helped and prayers. I started to research again cause they are back again causing havoc. They don't move things or try to scare us they hit us emotionally and physiologically. Your normal and then all of a sudden it's havoc. I'm certain with experience that it is not a medical issue. Since listening to positive affirmation I'm able to bounce back much faster. It is amazing cause my mother and her parents know this but my wife and my family go back to thinking that it is due to money, medical issues etc. I do get my doubts too but I know all the signs such as my dreams, kids seeing them etc.. point to a presence of these entities. They just don't give up but I too will not give up. God willing I'll never be a slave to these entities. It is one of the toughest battles you can't see them and you most of the times don't know what works and what does not work. But there is a pattern, they would first come on Wednesdays and Thursdays and now they start to come on Tuesdays and cause havoc for 5 to 7 days and then things are back to a joyful life. By the way the positive affirmation I listened to is by Bob Griswald "positive thinking" google him. For all that are going thru hell cause of these loser entities try the affirmations but take the affirmations as true and it will help a lot. Peace to all.

Wow! Awesome article. Mary Ellen Guiley thinks mine are Djinn. The differences between all I read & my own experiences are: They were with me from birth. All forms. Only I have never seen any with red eyes. They have all been Electric Blue like the tiny blue bolts of electricity they sometimes have. All but one. One is a female and her eyes and electrical bolts are a very odd Mauve? Magenta? In between maybe?

He is the 1st I'd seen at age 13. But my parents claim he was there from my Birth. They've heard him, seen evidence of him, but not as a man.

He had a Fedora type hat on.
My parents would hear him read to me, our walls were paper thin. But as soon as they would enter my room they could not hear him anymore and never saw him. Only an out of place book or magazine.

I moved 46 times in 45 years. He's always shown up.
He had been upset at falling in love with me. No, he has never acted on that to my knowledge really.
Only once, I was still with my ex husband. He became my ex the following year after this incident: We were asleep in our room. I awoke in very huge male arms. cradled like a child. I heard him in my mind I guess, say it was time to, " Go home." I was having a hard time with my ex then and at 1st, while still half asleep, I said, " Uh huh." I say how I know for sure soon.
Then when my mind fully woke, I panicked and thought, " No! I can't leave my children with a man like ____ .!" It was as if, Oscar. " Got mad.
He threw me atop my ex husband. Elbows digging into him and all lol.
I saw him fade out. He looked close to 8 ft tall like that 1st time when I was 13. He had massive shoulders and still had the fedora and what seems like a trench coat. Like the silhouette of Dick Tracy on those old novels.
My ex husband had been awake and seen all. He asked what happened as soon as he could breath again. He had witnessed and heard everything. But he had been frozen. He could not move or speak to help in any way. Only he asked what the, " |Other light was from. I did not see another light unless he meant the area ' Oscar ' faded into. I don't know. We don't speak.
He WAS harmful to one man. But it was to protect me. I was going on a 1st time date with a guy I'd met only a few days earlier. He arrived at my apartment early. I was still getting ready. So I sat him down on the sofa with a beer and football game on.
I went to the washroom to finish preparing. I came out and his arms were splayed across the wall, him being halfway up the wall from the sofa. A huge invisible hand around his throat. I didn't even realize I'd said anything but I said, " Oscar! Stop! " And the potential date was released. There were huge finger marks around his neck. The would be date said, " I was going to sneak up to you in the washroom and if you had been naked I was gonna take ya. Then suddenly that thing you called Oscar got hold of me and I couldn't do anything. This is fu--ed up! I'm gettin outta here! " And he ran. It was like I could feel laughter but I was laughing myself. I figured ' Oscar was protecting me that evening when 2 years later, the guy's new wife that he'd only met a week before marrying her, called my Mom to ask how long I dated the guy and to ask if he ever hit me. My Mom said, " As far as I know, they never dated." His new wife said the guy had told her he and I dated. But my Mom, not wanting trouble, would not tell the woman where I was currently living or my phone number.
Then when my oldest daughter and her boyfriend were staying at my Mom's, they got into drugs for a bit. My Mom was worried as she found fallen candles, never finished but burned out cigarettes, ash trays dumped in paper waste basket, etc, so she asked what we should do. I was working in a remote area up far Northern Manitoba Canada. I just said aloud, to nothing, " Oscar, if you hear and understand me, will you please go and keep an eye on my daughter and her boyfriend staying at my Mom's? "
My daughter called a couple months later saying odd stuff was happening like, she'd put her ash tray on her bed and when she'd go to take a puff of her cigarette, the ash tray would be on the night table, she'd light a candle to rid the room of the smell of weed, go to have a shower or whatever. When she returned to her room, the candle had been moved to a table far from cloths, curtains, paper, etc. She said a lot of odd things she couldn't figure out.
Another month passed and she phoned me again. She said, You sent that Oscar thing here didn't you? Call him back! Now! He makes us think we're going crazy! " I said, No. Not until Gran tells me your behavior has changed or till I get back.
But he'd been there 6 months when my Mom called to ask me to call him back. He was annoying her. Her favorite pictures of me were missing, family pictures that had my ex husband in them were found with him removed, not ripped out, not cut out, just faded away as though he hadn't been in it except for his outline. She said my favorite books were being placed on her night table and my Dad, being a light sleeper could hear the books getting there by a ' Shadow.'
So I only thought to myself, " Oscar, come back to me please. I need you now." He came back. I wasn't afraid at night of the fly by night shooters. Yeah, someone would bring in alcohol bi-weekly and the people would drive by all the people in houses shooting at the houses.
But exactly 1 week after I called him back, my daughter and her now husband, left a lit candle in her room, ( My room actually with antique furniture, etc ). Her cat Kitty knocked the candle over. Luckily, it was in the basement ( A basement Suite ) so the fire only took everything in the room but fire fighters were able to contain it to only that room.
I've also had the ones that fill me with dread. Like they want my soul or something. It is scary. I did not suffer from sleep paralysis until I was 22 and had just given birth to my 2nd daughter. It happened that night. In the hospital. No dreams. No nightmares. I was fully conscious. Always, forever, 330 am.
I also was shown the face of one one morning pre dawn. Briefly. What had looked like a trench coat and fedora on this one was actually a cape with a hood, his head was a bit larger than normal, but so was he, his hair was marcelled, darker blond, huge eyes, still electric blue, very very pale, such hollow cheeks, almost skeletal in an odd way, yet seemed like normal for him for some reason. His hooded cloak looked almost monk style and an awful dark brown. he had on what looked like riding breaches they show on Historical Romance Novels or historical pictures. That was the only thing that seemed, human? |His fingers were so long. yet as huge boned as he was he seemed kind of fragile. I've no other way to explain it.
Many other people have encountered ' Oscar ' or the other Shadow beings.
One of my friends was so scared for me, she hired a Shaman of all people!!!!
The Shaman was met with some kind of force at the door. He could not come in. So he went to the U.S to confer at some Mecca with elder Shamans. When he returned, he could enter my home. He claimed from the little leather pouch he had around his neck and an eagle feather he was holding. Only to tell me the elders said there was no way to stop Shadow Beings from being around me. Their only worry was if the eyes had ever been seen and if they were red or another colour. I felt safe saying electrical blue. But the Shaman paled and said, " Daemon. I cannot stay here. I must leave. Pray." Then he was gone! What would he have said if I said red I wonder? Probably the same thing lol.
I have been collecting stories and depictions of Shadow Beings from many other people. They are all mostly as YOU describe. Mostly. Some are more similar to mine.
I don't know what or who they are. Or why they are here. I only know they are. I believe that as with any being and some animals, that there are good and bad ones.
Do I fear them still at age 48? Sometimes.
What DO I know?
I know I'm not crazy or the only one now.
I know they cannot be photographed or filmed.
I've tried, others have tried. Pictured are only a hazy shot of nothing and recorders either go snowy or just quit. As though they are drained.
I was in a sleep disorder clinic here for 3 days and nights. Oscar DID put in his appearance. 5 Neurologists and other clinic staff saw and heard him.
Their diagnosis on my sleep paralysis? They can't say. They don't know any better or more than I do.
Has there ever been anything sexual? No. But very few have, ' Cuddled. ' Or I imagine that is what they think it is. They seem the same temperature as any humans.
Yes. I have had my legs, mainly calves caressed as well as my back and my bra is undone frequently but I don't know if that is the Shadow beings or some other kind of entity such as phantoms or ghosts. Sometimes those particular instances are cold, very very cold, sometimes warm, a few occasions hot. As in having red welts where I've been touched that go away in a few hours.
Am I Psychic or Clairvoyant? Maybe...but I think we all are.
Do I practice Witch Craft? No. But...I DO read it a bit.
Have I ever used a Ouija Board? Yes. But....1st few times as a game until my Mom found me with my late Grand-Mother's. With other kids.
Has the Ouija Board ever worked for me? Not to my knowledge.
Am I an Empath? Some people believe so.
Is my intuition a little stronger than most? Again, some people say yes.
When my Mom found I was trying the Ouija Board, she called in a priest ( Roman Catholic ) to cleanse our home of anything evil and take the board with him to destroy.
Did the Priest's rituals mumbo jumbo change anything? No
Am I religious in any way? No, I am more not so much spiritualistic, but a naturalist. What comes from the Earth goes back, Karma, Fate. Those are my main beliefs.
Am I superstitious? Not really. I have like a lucky bracelet or pillow or whatever. That is the extent of my superstition.
Am I trying to make a book on this subject of Shadow Beings? Yes. But only the kind with peoples accounts and depictions, though screened for any mental illnesses 1st. Can I do that? Yes. I am trained and work in Psychiatric care as well as physical. In other words, a health care professional with 8 years of training.
Do I believe Shadow beings exist and are something other than human or ghosts? Yes, of course.
But then, I'm fortunate enough to have many good solid witnesses.

And, IF you should want proof from my Parents, or the 5 Neurologists.....it will need to be soon as there are only 2 of the 5 Neurologists left, they are old. My Parents are both dying, one of Cancer, the other of COPD. My Mom is only 67 still, with terminal cancer. My Dad is 83 and no longer can walk or use his hands or lay down without choking, nor stand. He has to stay seated. He cries every day over Mom and says the will, " Go home together."
I only know 3 names of these Shadow beings despite there being more. These 3 are the most frequent and most bold. Oscar, Salome and Dr. Elvi. I know lol. Dr! lol!

I have encountered many of the variety listed here, mostly the small impish/animal kind, as well as the night terror kind.

With the Night Terror kind, soon as I got angry and though towards it "I will fricken (insert F word in place) devour your if I catch you" it seemed to take the threat seriously.. I was able to break free and it fled. It tried to attack twice, and anger seems to frighten it, but after I threatened it, I never had a problem again. Me and my wife have seen the impish kind. It formed from a shadowy corner of the basement, ran down the wall, and towards her feet.. as it got closer it kinda looked like a shadow cat.

Yes, I practice Witchcraft, so maybe that is what drew them in.

I was attacked thIs year in my basement-I have a detailed drawing of what it looked like(don't think I can attach it).
Description- no eyes, just black sockets and liquid/ mettalic. Same with mouth only oval very oversized, same mettalic black.
Robe- white
Body- didn't see anything below the waist? And torso transParent black. (not like eyes or mouth black)
Face- grayish white
Very evil- came straight at me , last thing I remember was how big And oval it's mouth was , I then was shown a car and inside was a murder / dismemberment, then I was back in my basement and I watched it dissapear into a shadow?. I felt very saddened after all this as well as oppressed. I would just like to know what this was all about!

@ Hardtimes, funny how they seem to fit the descriptions people often give when they have had an alien encounter, like yours with the oval mouth and black eyes. @Scorpio1981 the small ones are quite fast and may possibly be a forerunner to the bigger ones, I agree with you about the practicing of witchcraft may have drawn them in. It actually would be like ringing the dinner bell or what many call an "open invitation". You can keep strong but as long as your practicing magic they will stay with you.

I think you are on to something with this information and you certainly have my attention and I would be grateful if you could elaborate and tell me if you have made progress or refined your ideas? Because that theory of yours is similar to a couple of people I know and respect in the research division of the supernatural phenomena.

@Sage, I cannot tell you how happy I was to read you have gotten a better handle on them, you have nailed the target... The emotions of humans, imo they feed on or are drawn to highly charged negative emotions. We all give off electrical frequencies that fluctuate. I think they pick up the frequency and like blood in the water for sharks they all start showing up. The control you are gaining is a wonderful thing; it's your ticket to freedom. They may never be completely gone but if you are aware and can catch it the you can fight it and keep them away. You are so right other think of everything it could be except the truth and for some that's just easier to blame money or other issues when those issues are actually a chink in your amour and they know how to attack you from those angles. You are going on the right path. My positive affirmation came from a book called "The Secret" it changed my life in many ways, Google it ;)

Large Mirrors in your bedroom? BIG NO NO

I haven't encountered the shadow people since my old loft which I moved from in the spring ( I was also in a bad place at that time ) last night I had an encounter in my dreams and my friend who was staying over had an encounter when he awoke ( he is as sensitive as I am and we both possess the gift of having a sixth sense ) He is asian and suggested i get rid of the mirrored doors in my bedroom... they faced my bed on the right side reflecting the windows.. its funny because it was the only thing in my brand new place which was bothering me I removed the sliding mirrored doors and already feel a difference. It is said that they suck the energy from you as you sleep as well in asian culture they are known as being recorders... hope this works

Torontoguy, this is news to me can you tell me more about the mirrors, I had a big mirror in my bed room but it was not the only place they haunted and stalked me but I'm interested in the relevance in Asian culture and why they think its related. Just fascinating to find out how other cultures deal with them and why they come to people all over the world.

What is it that they want? I've seen the shadow from the corner of my eyes and when I turn to look it's gone. The SP I've been suffering for 19 yrs. About 10 yrs. ago it got worse now I can only fall asleep face down. I even went to the dr. and was told it was normal. I posted my story on' your ghost stories' and then found out it was SP , before I thought it was something evil. I did some research about it and came accross OBEE. It's been so long since I last fell asleep face up that I can't anymore, I try but I can't.

About 18 months ago I began to notice strange things happen to me, and I went to a psychic, a couple, they told me a shadow is following me and that it's evil. They also told me the dead and animals and strange things happening weren't coming from the shadow the birds were a warning from my spirit guide and the other things from my guarding angel. The reason why they were happening more often was because I had ignored all the other signs that usually comes from dreams. The shadow has been with me for a long not just recently. I have tried to get rid of it 3 times. it works for a couple of wks and then he's back. The psychics told me he was attracted to the light and that more negative spirits were following me and would not let me or my family be happy as long as I was around. That It has been attached to me for so long that it is harder to remove. The 1st psychic tried to remove it, he only made me pay for the material and said the reason why he didn't charge me was because I was the 2nd person he has ever seen with a shadow, after oil and herb baths and a candle it was gone. I saw the psychic months after and I asked him If the shadow was really gone and he did not look at me in the eyes and said yes, he looked very uncomfortable. I've tried different things but he keeps coming back.

I can OBEE now, not as often as I would like to. I also fall asleep on my side before it was a no no. The shadow is not allowed to enter my bedroom. I had to do a ritual and my room was the holiest place in my mind. The reason why I know he cannot enter my room is because I sleep with the lamp from the livingroom on. My bedroom door opens right into the livingroom, I sleep with the door open I leave the tv on to caumuflage the weird noises so I can fall asleep. The shadow only passes in front of my door, never inside my bedroom. Also he walks infront of the lamp, this I know because I see the the light being interrupted by something moving infront of it. It does not happen everyday but often enough that I know he cannot go into my room.

I only heard of 'shadow' from the psychic. This is my 1st time hearing about 'shadow people' I don't know whats attached to me but it sounds like it could be. I feel like I'm running out ideas, I can't get rid of it, I feel like I'm running out of time. Any suggestions?

Ive seen the man with the hat, shadow people, the shadow hooded thing and the old lady and countless ghosts encounters.
Ghost encounters was mostly with 4-8 friends, and we cryed and fell into shock everytime.
We were doing spiritism and hunting ghosts.
At first with the hat man i did not sleep or half asleep, it was bright day. I saw him when i was 7-8 years old. I saw him while we were driving to the store, then i said look mommy a man with a hat. Mom: Yes i see him, dont bother me im driving. Then i looked out the back window since he was out of sight for 2 seconds cause of the car door and the design of the car, then he was gone in thin air.
Second time i saw him was at night time while i was out driving my little bike when i was 13, i thought i just made it up since i was 7-8 years old but when i went past the church on the way to a friend i saw him standing on the road on the church watching me, the same person with a hat as before. Then he dissapeared again.

After we started hunting ghosts for real when i was like 15-16 years old, we went to a place that its said to be extremely haunted. Weve heard about a little girl haunting this place so we just though it was awsome to try there.
Well we took on much more than we could handle.
At first we went there nothing happened, but after a while it started hammering in the abandoned buildings. We were scared and ran away, but we didnt see anything convincing at (first), thought it might be someone joking with us.
Ill skip all the other stories and go straight to one of the badest ones.
We went up there again, 7-8 people after a spiritism attemt, at that spiritism we met a girl that said she was evil and going up there tonight is dangerous, we laughed cause it was funny and exiting, offcourse we didnt believe this 100% cause someone might be moving the glass with their fingers right?
We went up and satt down and started to wait for something to happen, it started the banging again but we were used to this by now. A girl next to me flashed her flashlight between 2 rock pillars that were down there, then we saw a pale man with a proffesor robe with flesh wounds in his face and completely white eyes staring intense at me and her, prob for 2 seconds and we moved the flashlight back and he was gone. We told the rest of the group but they laughed and didnt believe us. Suddenly some of us decided to go down to see if we saw him again and the rest wanted proof, so all of us went down without 1 friend, he satt upp there alone cause he was scared and didnt wan to go down there. We went down between the pillars and further down untill we came to the door that leads in to the building, another friend went first and looked inside just to run a 100 miles per hour. He yelled he saw the guy me and the girl saw, so we all ran upp to our friend again. But he was not sitting there, he was on the road with a pocketknife in his hand shaking in shock, we asked him what was wrong but he did not answer, i were afraid that he would stabb me but he didnt though. He started talking abitt on the way back down and he said he saw a girl with blond/whiteish hair floating in his face with her hair in front of her face. Well we didnt believe him offcourse and continued walking, suddenly a little girl probably 8-10 years old came out of the woods floating with 2 dark figured on each side holding hand. This was around 3:30 at night.. Everything around us was wierd and we were all like WHAT THE F**********S****!! Since we were so many in the group we were braver than alone, so we followed them, they did not walk and they did not fly, they were like sliding faster than u walk. They went beside the store and we were 2-4 seconds behind them, then 2 of my best friends ran because they wanted to see if this was serrious, then when they came around the corner of the store. The girl and the 2 black person like figures was around 100 meters or something away from us, its like they teleported there. Then we all catched up to my 2 friends 1 of the yelled: EYH!
The girl with her hair down to her heels stopped and so did the 2 black shadowy persons, the little girl looked just over her shoulder. We did not see her face, then they started sliding walking again.
My friends appartement were 4 meters from that place so me and 1 other from the group went inside to tend to my friend in shock, the others came fast back because they dissapeared all of a sudden in the woods in thin air. Because there they dissapeared is a thick large brick wall with woods around.
And also they made some kind of sound, dont remember what.
I wanted to see more if this really was ghosts or whatever it was, me and my best friend went out and stood with the brick wall looking, nothing to see. Untill suddenly i saw the girl standing ontopp of the brick wall with the fence that is impossible for a little girl and a world champion in jumping for that matter to jump. She was looking down at me with her hair infront of her face, just standing there. I pointed to my friend and said LO-O-OOK! Ofcourse he looked the wrong way while i was pointing my finger at her face, she was prob 4-7 meters away from us. And he looked to the right instead of the left, but after i said: JESIS, LOOK OVER THERE! He looked and saw her, yyyes i ssee her! he said and we ran away and tears were running from my eyes as ive never been so scared in my life, it made it worse that she was looking at me.
After that we talked about what happened that night, no one believes us offcourse.
But after that all strange stuff happened in many years, im 21 now and it has not stopped yett.
Things happened to my friends in their houses, some friends didnt want to spend the night over cause some of them started to cry cause they saw things that i saw at the same time as they did.
Then i started to see the shadow hooded person and the shadow persons, but not the hatman anymore.
Extremely much ghosts and strange occurances.
I even have a picture of one of the ghosts, we captured it in my house in a mirror as we were having a party. The day before i woke up half asleep and saw a lady in a white dress with dark hair sitting on my bed, i did not see her face then. I just fell asleep again since i thought it was a dream but it did not feel like a dream, i did not want her to look at me.
Later after the party when we were looking through party pictures we found something strange.
We saw someone in the mirror where at the time at my bedroom, there was no one in there.
But in the picture it was a Lady with dark hair, white dress and like a skeleton like face with flesh and her jaw was like way too long down. And it looked like she was screaming, she was exactly like the supposedly dream i hadd but on the picture i saw her face.

I am new to this site & haven't spoke to many about our situation but things are escalating & I'm not sure what to do. I will try to explain briefly from the beginning. at always felt like I was being watched since I was a young teenager. when I was 6 mos. pregnant with my third child my then husband said he saw a caped being so tall that its back was hunched over the ceiling with red diagonal eyes, he said he closed his eyes for a few moments and when he opened his eyes this thing was hunched over staring at me. I thought it was ust dreaming when he told me. this entity has been described in detail by my oldest son when he was young and my daughter at the earliest age of 5 and a half and now by my second 2 youngest daughter who is 4. I have personally never saw this entity but I did experience hearing it when he evening in fact it was the night before we moved. I do not know if numbers have any bearing on anything but I have seen the numbers 1111 or 111 frequently since 2000. within the last 3 weeks several weird things have been happening. I was laying in bed late at night watching videos on YouTube when I saw is shadow outlined like a man race past my door I had an instant sense of something not right almost evil I got up to check everyone was asleep so I went back to bed and felt itchy burning feeling on my left breast & when I look down I noticed 3 red welt marks. the next day the well mark turned into scratches. my new husband said he saw a shadow figure reflecting in our larchmere in our bedroom he said he watched it for a few minutes and it's been turned and walked out of the room. I'm not sure what this all means but I know this is real. when I told my now 14 year old daughter that her 4 year old sister was describing the same entity that she saw all throughout these years she just started crying and saying no not my little sister. I'm terrified of what this all is and why. if somebody can please help us to understand what is going on.

Hi. I am new to this site. I have to admit I don't usually post on any sites but after reading the message from fadetoblack I felt the need to respond. My husband and I also experience occurrences similar to yours. He often will see the shadow people talked about in the article posted here. I am an empath and I cannot usually see entities but will hear and feel them. I have had some particularly interesting experiences where I have been attacked while in bed. The most important thing for you to know is that you have free will and do not have to tolerate these entities encroaching on your home. You have the right to command them to leave. In fact if you do not do so it is the same as allowing or accepting them. They like to feed on fear and although I know it is difficult not to feel fear when you are experiencing attacks, I found that the more you practice telling them "I command that you leave" it will become second nature to you. My husband also clears our home daily by opening all the doors in the home while he walks through and states "All spirits in this home not sent by God the Father, You are not wanted, accepted nor desired. I command you to leave now and never return." You can also do this to your yard outside. I have also found that the attacks on me seem to increase prior to events that are important to my spiritual growth. I continue to grow stronger and more confident as I have realized I have the right to dismiss them and not allow them to interfere in my life or my family. It is spiritual warfare..many people have not experienced these entities and may not believe they are real, but my experiences say otherwise. I hope this is of some help to you, we will pray for you. I forgot to add that we too have been experiencing seeing the numbers you describe for many years now. There are many theories floating around out there about the significance of them. Some people believe it is a sign of spiritual awakening..like an alarm clock of sorts.

@Empath, I do agree you can have authority over them but it must be commanded through Jesus name or they will not leave, no human posses the power to command these or any other supernatural creature. The authority is by Jesus not us.

Empath, no need for hyper emotional responses, the only reason I said to use "in the name of Jesus" is I saw you stated your faith in God which makes you Christian. But still you refuse to do what Jesus says when casting out demons? Mark 16:17, "these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils."

How are the believers today supposed to be casting out demons? Through His name. As we can see in Mark 16:17, "these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils."


And yes shadow entities are demons/devils/djinn. This is why your husband has to repeat "clearing the home everyday" they will never leave, no matter how much you say pretty please. You have no authority of these things.

I'm not sure if what I saw is a shadow man or not
he was a man tall, wearing black, he have huge glowing BLUE eyes, and a very white face with no features
no mouth nor nose !
at the beginning I thought it was a doll looking down, but when he looked toward me he scared the hell out me !!
and I drove like crazy
but then I went back very quickly so I could take a photo or a video of him
but didn't see him ,just as if he vanished or something !!
and yes it was dark, very dark actually in an old street.

hayadodokh, I appreciate the very interesting story but I have not heard of anything like that maybe someone who has will find the description and post. I know the supernatural world is large and no one has seen everything. It's definitely very interesting, no mouth you say? how big was it? I did have a similar experience once with something very similar, it was a pale white with blue eyes seemed like it had no mouth either. barek and I were taking photos at an old homestead on a friends property and the home had been there for around 100 years or so, we were outside around the old well and I looked up to the window on the second floor and it was looking out at me it seemed like it had a hat on but it was a pale color like white smoke but the eyes stood out and no mouth. very odd indeed.

ive seen them since i was a little girl i use to be afraid but now i feel they watch over me and protect me i feel as though i form a bondwith them.sometimes when people harm me they would have accidents right afterwards like getting burned cut or slipping or things being thrown at them if i wish it happens.if someone upsets me same thing happens.everyone says theres something evil around me i dont feel it.

I want to share my experience in regards to Shadow Men. My very first encounter was earlier this year around the sunmertime. Occasionally I go back to my hometown to visit family and friends when I have time. So when I come home I sleep in the guest bedroom due to the fact my old room is now empty. My Mother has lived in this house many years and there has never been anything out of the ordinary.

One night while in a deep sleep I felt a strong tug on the comforter with such energy. Everything started out very dark but I had a clear sense something was not right. Everything in my dream was very vivid as it occurred in the guest bedroom and the dream was almost surreal. It started out a bit dark and the slight bit of control I had was to the point I tried hard to see what pulled the comforter and was holding me down.

When my vision come into sight I noticed half of a human like shadow figure with an upper torso, arms, and a head but no attributes as to a face. I cannot put into words as what it was doing but it looked as if it was operating on me or pulling something from my stomach. At this point I remember trying to scream. After a few moments I woke up shocked. To my belief there are things in this world that feed on fear which my fear was a mirror in the room.

Ever since my experience this mirror I put in my old room far away and the door to my room closed. Since then I have not encountered that experience again. Another time I recall a voice in my dream call out my name loud enough for me to awaken but after that occurrence the entire day everything about me was in peace. For many years I've been capable of recalling many dreams in my life or have a sense of having a dream and then later in the day being able to piece it together between good and bad dreams. I wanted to share my story because of the beliefs there are much that exists.

Mark2881: what you have described is common to those who have experienced this attack, to me it is nothing less than an attack and I share your theory that indeed they do feed on fear or the chemical that is released when the fear emotion is activated. I have seen them up close and never any facial features just blackness much darker than the night. There are many cultures for hundreds of years who share the same story's there is no doubt for me they do exist.

If indeed you have these experiences then you are giving them what they want but they are not protecting you, you are their food source. This is not their behavior pattern. As far as something bad happening to others? Merely wishful thinking on your part, you are finding a correlation because it is what you wish to believe. They are not attack pets nor will they serve any human except to drain or attack them. My guess is you watch too many twilight movies and have fantasies of supernatural powers.

Finally, after 27 years of seeing "shadow men" I have decided to search for answers. My first experience of seeing one was when I was litle laying in my crib. I saw my closet door open & a very clear, tall dark figure walked across the room towards my crib and stood over it..stared down and spread out his arms. I stared at him for a very long time and then screamed. It quickly went back in the closet before my parents arrived. Since then, I have continually seen them in all shapes and sizes. I've heard them make really odd noises and speek in other languages to each other. There have been a few times when I've woken up to one or something whispering something loudly in my ear. Once I woke up and a little one ran at me very quickly and jumped at me on the bed, trying to attack but it left no wounds or bruises. I quickly commanded it to go away. I wake up many nights to them staring with their arms spread out. I do believe they thrive on fear. By now, I have learned to pray and command them to go away..usually I read psalms and will go back to bed. Occasionally I will bless where I am living and open all entries. I have also seen spirits that have passed away. I think they know I am sensitive, so they try to connect. Only a few times have I seen those though. I don't understand why I am a target for "shadow men" and why they openly come into my life. Has anyone woken up to seeing their arms spread out? I haven't read anything about that but I am guessing they're trying to control dreams.

What can I say, this article has explained a lot for me.
I'm a writer of horror fiction. The book I am currently working is not what I'd call fiction, its about many events of an unexplained/supernatural/paranormal nature that have happened to me since birth!!! and there are many but its only in recent times I have been tutored on what has occurred.

Way back at the end of the 80's I experienced a black mass, I remember it as clear as day (despite being at night). The experience really left me shaken. After reading your piece I'm quite convinced the mass was not aimed at me!! but I experienced it because of my sensitivity.

I was a lodger in the house which was owned by my best friends mum. Me and my friend shared a bedroom, one night we got a bit freaked out. We headed up to bed, he was in front of me on the stairs, I glanced through the arch that led into the kitchen. It was black, an impenetrable blackness, and believe me for the few seconds I stared I felt absolute seething abhorrence coming from it. I could make out no shape but knew something was there, even though it was night, I would've been able to see the outline of both the glass backdoor and uncurtained windows but my view was entirely blocked.
I panicked and pushed my mate up the stairs where we locked ourselves in our room. after a few minutes I did point out that there was a light on upstairs, other than the staircase light, we were the only ones at home that night. Don't ask why but we had a spyhole in the door, we could clearly see the light was coming from my friends sisters room next door. Neither of us turned it on.
We left it, we left it on, no way we were going out there.
Come morning that light was off, I switched it on and off and it worked fine. I definitely hadn't gone out in the night and turned it off, and I knew my friend hadn't as he would have had to climb over me and my mattress on the floor to get out.
I don't think I was supposed to see it, I think my mate was, We eventually fell out but I saw him now and again, he was never in a very good place.

Hello Paul and Karen, welcome to Perception9 and my shadow man information article. Thank you both for taking time to write, I have a couple of quick questions and wanted to say hello.

Paul, not surprised to hear your friend may have been the target or magnet, I feel they feed on unhappiness, despair and any continued negative emotion. One part of what you said I feel you may be mistaken and that is that it came only for your friend. If you see it, its also there for you. The black mass is an entirely different entity than a shadow man/demon. The black mass is an aggressive and dangerous entity whereas the shadows mostly observe, the mass will attack and is capable of physically doing so. Very bad news when this one shows up.

I've always been generally a happy person. I have noticed when I'm praying more and am closer to God, I see a shadow man unexpectedly. When I go through periods of distancing myself from God, I no longer see them.

I am just the opposite if I am away from God they come, when I am close to God and keep him first(as I always stay now)I rarely see them. Maybe they try to stay on your mind and confuse you when you pray and try to keep you from God.

I am happy to have found this place and want to share my experiences. When I was 7 I woke up to see a small man wearing a hood at the side of my bed. He seemed to have a greenish type glow and I could not see his face. It was no more than 2 feet tall and was walking towards the foot of my bed. I did have a strong feeling of dread and I did feel that whatever this was it was not good. When it got under the foot of my bed I ran off and spend the night in parents bed. A few years later when I was 10 or 11 years old, I was sitting in the living room by myself in the late morning during the summer. I had a cat that was sitting in the middle of the room while I was watching TV. The man ran out very fast from a hallway into the living room crashing into a glass door and disappearing. The glass was not broken to my surprise. I saw that my cat was spooked with his hair standing up. This time the man was about 4 feet tall all black with a hat on. I saw this same man a few times more, It would just walk or run through the room very fast sometimes bumping or running into things. It did always come from the hallway through the living room and than run into a door or into the kitchen. When it ran into the kitchen I would hear it run into something. I assume the door at the end of the kitchen. As a teenager a few years had gone by with no sightings my Mother began seeing the the 4 foot talk man in her room. She explained it as very blurry and would run from the closet into the door. One night my Dad and I even heard it hit the door as my Mother was screaming. We ran into the room and my Mother said it ran under the bed and then into the door. This was a bit redeeming for me because my parents never believed what I was seeing was real. We moved when I was 17 and never had another experience. As I look back it was a negative experience for myself that always bothered me. After reading the information posted hear I would add that both my Mother and I have strong premonitions. My entire life I have had dreams or visions that come true. I have tried to ignore them but sometimes it is very obvious I can't. Maybe it is related to the sightings. Thank You for the information it was helpful and therapeutic to read.

Absolutely chilling "looking4answers" as I read I had the memories of my experience with the "little man" come back, I was maybe 3-4 when I saw him about 2 ft high, a blue green color he would run past my room and when I would go to look down the hall he was always gone, I asked my dad one day who he was he said thats the ice man and that is all he would say about it, I am going to ask him again now that I'm grown if he remembers him and let you know what he says. I came here searching for some answers about an one of several entities that are in my home. I have a 15 year old son who is an empath, he can see, speak and hear spirits as well as see auras, read minds, emotions and "see" what will happen before it does. I also have a 5 year old girl who can see and speak to spirits. However, this entity is plaguing my other children particularly my 13 yr old daughter. I don't know if this is a shadow man or not but I'm hoping someone here can help. It does appear in darkened areas but at all times of the day, our animals also see it and our cat has tried to keep my 13 yr old daughter from entering her room where this thing appears the most (it has been seen in the bathrooms, a kitchen closet and the upstairs living room at night). What my daughter describes is a short body the shape of ET and all black with no distinct type of clothing. It has a very long, slender neck and a small oval whitish head with owl like features and a black hood. The neck is about 4 feet high and the body maybe 3 foot. The neck also moves like a snake but nothing else moves. Sometimes it appears with just the body or with no neck, most the time it just stands and stares. It never talks. it started appearing in her closet if she closes the closet door it will show up under her sister's (the 5 yr old girl shares a room) bed staring at my 13 yr old. The scariest incident was when it chased my 13, 11 and 8 yr old into my husband's office one night while he was inside working. The kids ran into the lit office yelling and slammed the door. All three describe seeing black fingers appear under the door reaching toward them but when encountering the light it shrank back. I've now seen this thing once but just the body in my darkened bathroom one night while I was trying to go to bed. I would like this thing gone, sooner rather than later I really need some answers, advice!

Jbswell, you have a complex problem from what you described. You say your 15 year old has a lot of paranormal ability's? I am also picking up the occult is an accepted and talked about concept so much so even the small children know about these supernatural things? before I could suggest how to rid yourself of this demon (and yes that's what it is, not a shadow man/demon) I would have to understand what belief you follow. This one you have is comfortable enough to make its presence known so I would say its been with you for a long time already.

Thank you Aanica, we are devout Catholics. Yes, the paranormal has always been a part of our lives. I've had dealings with the paranormal since I was a child, my husband has Cherokee blood as do our 8 children so he has always believed. Psychic ability runs in my mother's family since as far back as she can remember. My mother's great-grandmother used tarot cards and dousing rods. Most of this activity started when my parents moved near us. Their home was infested with spriits, activity, noises etc at all hours of the day and night. My 15 year old won't/doesn't talk about his ability much, in fact he sleeps with his lights on every night that's how I know something must be bothering him. A paranormal investigator, who is an empath, told me my 15 yr old was an empath even more gifted than he was-i never knew before then as my son kept it very quiet. It wasn't until I told my son what the investigator said that he started sharing some things like seeing a demon when he was in the hospital for a kidney infection at age 8. This demon would go from room to room but liked following him around. I believe this thing followed us from my parent's home (they have since moved out). My 5 yr old is always talking about her "friends" whom she will tell me matter if factly (with no fear) "they are dead mommy but they like to play". Most of these are children or so they appear to her. My 15 yr old also told me once (he has refused to speak of it ever again) of a "creature" that has always been with him since he believes before birth as an unborn baby. It is monstrous in it's appearance, changes shapes yet never interacts, touches, just always observes. He can't get rid of it and tells me it's not a demon and he HAS tried to get rid of it. He just shrugs it off like it's no big deal but why sleep with his lights on? He says this thing we are seeing is not his companion, however my 13 yr old saw it follow her brother once. Any advice would help as I want this thing gone.

Here is one more thing, not sure if this is significant or not but my 15 yr old nearly died at birth. He had the cord wrapped around his neck twice and his heart actually stopped for a short period of time.

My 11 yr old son said a boy his age named "John" started appearing to him telling him he was there to protect him from this thing and not to be afraid. I shrugged this off as one of the child entities that seem to come and go visiting my 5 yr old. "John" told my son the reason this thing doesn't come into his room is because John won't let it. This thing hasn't ever gone or been seen in my 11 yr old's room (he shares this with my 15 yr old and 8 yr old son). That night this thing chased my 13, 11, & 8 yr old into my husband's office they heard the sound of a struggle outside the door as if something big and heavy had hit this thing and it disappeared. The next day John told my 11 yr old he fought this thing the night before and that John hides on wait for this thing to come out to try to keep it contained. My 11 yr old JUST told me John told him there is a portal that this demon came through and it works for the creature following my 15 yr old. He said the other creature gives this entity power to keep it strong but that God and Jesus gives John power so that he can keep it from attacking. He also said it the reason it shows up in my daughter's room is because it's the easiest room to portal into and they are trying to establish a larger portal but John keeps shutting it down. I know this sounds crazy, it does to me but it really is happening to my family and I'd like to make it stop.

I suffer from sleep sleep paralysis and that only stared a few years ago. But it seems to be getting worse as time goes on. At first I never saw anything or anyone but the more it happens the more I see, I've even started seeing these shadow people when I'm awake and in the day. Its been getting bad to the point that I have a hard time getting to sleep. I've also experienced other activity. In a house I once lived in I would get woken up with whispers in my ear that I could never fully understand, and the sound of someone walking around, along with the sound of furniture being moved around in rooms that were vacant. I did live there with others but most of the activity would happen when everyone was gone for the holiday and there would only be 2-3 of us in the house. I have recently moved but still see the shadow people, and recently have seen what appeared to be an old lady with long curly gray hair walk into my bathroom....actually just a minute ago all three of my cats turned to the hallway and hissed...I thing I need to go buy some more sage.

There have been various types of Shadow Entities entities reported, visually they can bee ranging from 4 feet to as much as 7 feet tall, they have been described as flat and seemingly 2 dimensional, some with glowing red eyes and sometimes wearing a hat and or a hooded cloak, the reports I have read over the last year or so of recreationally researching this subject has enabled me to categorize them into these general titles;

THE ATTACHMENT- "just me and my shadow"

THE PREDATOR-tends to feed off of fear or anxiety that it creates and in turn amplifies

THE RUNNING MAN- zips by out of the corner of your eye (it was fast AND "out of the corner of your eye" BUT you seem to know it was a Shadow)


Of course lets not discount the possibility that this phenomena may be attributed to individuals who are very much alive and are very capable of astral projection and depending on that projected individual,the potential exists for PSI vampirism is well right? My point is this : there are endless reports that filter in to forums like this day after day week after week, month after month and they all seem to have uniformity and consistency in the described encounters, this isn't some sort of pop culture, mass media generated,
mass hysteria of "Wars of The Worlds" paranoia principle, this is a quantifiable and record able phenomena that is becoming inescapable as a supernatural subject as of late.

The testimonies I have read just from my limited research on the subject are all frighteningly similar in description ...we all seem to recall a sense of malevolence associated with the encounter, my recollection of one of the last few SP/shadow encounters is vivid ....

I remember opening my eyes and seeing a back mist/fog sort of coalescing through the lower left frame of the door... I was completely unable to move, the dream has always included an overwhelming sense of evil that I alway feel an instinctual need to shout out at in defiance!...to confront as a means of vanquishing it... the form was dark and consistent with the size of a man when it fully materialized beside by bed and I could tell it was very dark, like unnaturally dark... I could feel the ominous presence as well as see its outline in my straining peripheral vision ...this one was wearing a cloak of sorts but I could discern no facial features as I was rendered completely immobilized by the imposed paralysis and permitted only straight on vision... the odd thing is I then distinctly remember a pillow floating towards my face and having it make enough contact with my face to jolt me completely awake and free...the other variation involves a recurring dream located an old early 1800's seeming farmhouse with a hatched floor door in one of the outer rooms that lead to a basement/ cellar ...I was completely mobile yet when opening the basement door I looked down to the bottom of the stairs following the narrow sliver of light from above and only ever catching the dark outline of something standing just out of the light but always seeming unnaturally dark...and , I am standing at he top of the stairs but MY VOICE IS CUT OFF FROM YELLING AT THE SEETHING PRESENCE IN THE BASEMENT ... sometimes it's a modern sort of a multi leveled basement plant or facility ...now occasionally I do catch glimpses of them running by in my waking state, but nowadays they seem to leave me alone as its going on over a year now since the last episode....b

It was 3 years ago.Im now 21.I was layed in bed and my curtain was slightly open and ther was a street lamp shining in so on my opazit wall it shined most of the wall up. anyway was layed next to my partner in the dark(ish) playing on my phone. i put my phone under my pillow and shut my eyes, THAT NASTY FEELING came i cant explain what it feels like its not plesant. i knew something was not right. i took a deep breath in slowly looked round my room starting left to right.... there it was stood against my wall like a invisable human was there but had a shadow?? clear as day and very perfect out line of a mans shadow a dark black shadow it was a 6ft bold man average size nose no clothing and big bottom lip i remember this off 4 seconds! i cud just see his top half as my window bottom cut his bottom half out. this is scarey what im going to tell you, so im looking at him and he walks along side the wall BUT did not have a normal walk, it looked to walk like a medium fast robot jittery walk it took 3 steps then i shot under the quilt kicking my partner to turn the lamp on (the lamp was next to me) i try tell people about this no ones ever heard anything like it. but i never knew anyone had seen them too till tonight! so i set up a yahoo page to share this. in research ive found they come when your in bed in medium lit rooms u can see them. people dont no whether there evil or guardians (watchers) to be honest id like to think there nice but that feeling i got was truley nasty. I looked up and they haunt for a month or so then go away but then can come back. Im shitting myself bigggg time, i could cry with fear. since ive never slept in the dark since.

I found this forum while investigating the correlation between traumatic events and spirits.

I will try to be brief in my description. About 6 months ago, my cousin was beaten by her husband bad enough she had to be removed by ambulance. She hasn't been residing in the house they built until 3 weeks ago when she was "awarded" temporary stay in the house until final court decision in a few months. This assault was witnessed by 4 children, 2 of which are biologically hers. As expected, she feels uneasy being in the house, we thought because it was that we had no idea what this man is capable of.

A few nights ago, she had gotten the kids to sleep, she was relaxing on the couch and dozed off. She awoke to a shadowy figure in the dark office room coming towards her and turning before coming out of the doorway. She, at first, thought nothing of it because on previous occasions, she has seen our grandmas figure, smelled her, and associated it with her. Last night, was a different story however. She is temporarily caring for her friends son, who had woken up in the middle of the night, and opened the door to the garage, setting the alarm off. Her daughter(10 yr old), who had fallen asleep on the couch, woke up, to what she thought was her mom, running in the direction of the alarm. But the alarm never turned off and the figure was gone. She got up turned the alarm off, and was a little spooked. As I was typing this, I remember her also telling me a few months ago, while staying with her parents, she had seen a shadow standing at the end of the hallway, with my grandmothers figure. She said it looked like our grandma, but the feeling of it, was not her. We are all Christian, and I advised her to bless her house. But I was wandering if this could be any relation to what happened to her back in October. Any information would be helpful

I would like to address your first question with the answer, yes positively and absolutely the dark shadows are involved in negative influence. My (and many others) theory stands as they (shadow demons) are drawn to negativity and also influence it to those who are susceptible, such as her husband - who did the horrible deed he did to her, violence is their calling card. As you state you are Christian I will address the possible solution from a Christian point of view. The blessing is good advice but more will be needed because of the severity of the violence and probable continuance I suggest a pastor or Priest if available to give a home blessing. If they are not then for her to do it, to bless the water in an emergency is ok as long as all is done is the name of Jesus there will be success. Tell her she must cover every room, closet and over every window and door with the prayer and blessed holy water. I have been through this very thing and this is what I did and I know it works. It will help her but most likely the individual (the husband) she won't be able to help. You have to want the help from God to get it. I did this over 300 times in 2 years or so, it takes a while to be free but it's worth it. I hope the best for your friend, just ask if need to know anything else.
