To most people, mention the word paranormal and they immediately think of ghosts and hauntings, perhaps together with the related psychic aspects of those subjects. You may know these spectres by other names; such as apparitions, phantoms, and spirits - it matters not, whatever they are termed, ghosts and their hauntings are the most frequently encountered phenomena from the realms of the paranormal and often, the supernatural as well.
Spirits and haunted places can invoke fear and alarm but need they do so? A haunting may be a quiet spirit or it may be noisy poltergeist manifestations; in haunted places orbs may well be seen or captured in a photograph, as well as the apparition itself being the centre of attention. Coping and dealing with a ghost or a suspected haunting are often discussed subjects; as is the stress and worry these alarming activities can cause. Hopefully, ghost hunting and paranormal investigations may start to provide some answers if we learn to approach it with thought and proper assessment.
