A Short Biography about Derek Olson

Once upon a time I might have been a famous figure in history or a monk secluded in an abbey but now I'm just plain old me ... writing this short bio of a boy that grew up in a hamlet in northern Ontario, Canada. Not wanting to remain where he was as there was the desire to find the answer to questions such as "why am I here?" or "what's the purpose of life?"; if all there is to life is to get up, go to work, return home, entertain self in some manner and sleep for a period and go to work again until you die, then what?

Any answer I could come up with wasn't good enough for me, so I joined the Canadian armed forces for a portion of my learning and found out that this experience was meant to be, as it helped me establish independence, assertiveness and to play the 'Fool' depicted in the Tarot Cards, becoming a paratrooper; stepping out of a perfectly good aircraft into the nothingness with the attitude that if I'm being taken care of, then things will be OK ... if not ... Oops!

I think this was where the army experience allowed me to not grow any roots and in turn, gave me the freedom and security to move about and not depend on anyone else and it also gave me the conscientiousness to be responsible for the decisions I make in life. Flying by my shirt tail became a way of life, developing the 'Trust' that things would be provided - recognising that things weren't being provided from anyone in the physical aspects of life, not to mention that whatever those things that were provided seemed to come in varying packages and forms and usually entailed moving to another part of the country; life wasn't as easy as it sounds.

I think my whole direction in life changed after I followed a suggestion to see a lady who gave psychic readings; this wasn't my cup of tea, but that happened to be part of the reading and the experience started the snowball rolling down the hill. After reading hundreds of metaphysical books, receiving confirmations of what I read, followed. Other directions opened up for my higher spiritual indoctrinations from the North American native people and the Spiritualist Church.

The Spiritualist Church opened other doors such as spiritual healing that became part of my repertoire of tools I use today. Eventually my initiations into the metaphysical realm lead to Reiki Healing, Hypnotherapy and Past-life Regression work which has developed into Hypnotherapy Surrogate Work that allows healing at a distance to take place without the client being present. The client's conditions or ego can't get in the way and possibly sabotage their session. Ultimately, this form of healing has developed into doing Spirit Releasement Work. Through the surrogate work, communication with discarnate entities is possible and help is given to those souls within this dimension, being there for whatever reason which and haven't been able to carry on.

Communicating through writing is slowly becoming another one of the tools I am beginning to use as at this time an alternative hasn't presented itself through which to share my experiences. As everything happens for a reason and this short bio is just that ... short! I left out all the good parts but I placed all my secrets between the lines and in the spaces between the words of everything I have written to date. As in life, we all must find our own way and answers, so enjoy the ride as life is only as good as you make it.
